SHELTON, Conn. – June 28, 2018 – Inline Plastics today announced the initial performance metrics of its recently completed solar system. The 965 Kilowatt rooftop system at the company’s Shelton, CT corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility is now actively generating clean solar power. More than 500,000 pounds of carbon have already been offset by the production of the 2600 panel system. This equates to planting more than 220 trees and eliminating 206,000 vehicle miles on the road.

“After careful planning, preparation and installation, we are proud to now be capturing and producing significant amounts of clean energy,” announced Tom Orkisz, president and Owner of Inline Plastics. “Our company is committed to leading the way; whether that is through innovative product development within the packing industry or setting the standard within our local community for responsible and renewable energy initiatives.”

Inline partnered with EnterSolar, the leading provider of solar solutions for commercial enterprises, on the design and installation of the system. EnterSolar’s maintenance and operations division, MaxSolar continues to ensure the system is performing optimally.

Heading into the summer months with longer days and greater sun exposure, the company expects to see the energy outputs continue to rise each month. The vast array of panels covering the rooftop are easily seen by drivers along the Route 8 corridor through Shelton. “We hope the visibility is a constant reminder of our commitment to environmental responsibility and the use of sustainable technologies,” Orkisz added.

“We are proud to help Inline Plastics extend its commitment to sustainability,” said Peyton Boswell, managing director EnterSolar. “By leveraging our real-time performance monitoring function, Inline is able to highlight that commitment to employees, customers and community partners on a continuing basis, long after the panel installation is complete.”
